 Amanda was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago. At the age of three, Amanda's parents enrolled her in ballet lessons. Within the next few years, dancing took a central role in her life. Amanda performed in many shows and competed in multiple cities in the Midwest. She joined "Freespace", a non profit dance company out of Chicago, then attended the University of Iowa for four years as a dance major. Amanda continued to perform in University shows and was a member of Duarte Dance Works, a company led by one of her dance professors. After school, she moved to San Antonio to get out of the cold weather and to share her love of dance with others by teaching for the Fred Astaire Studio. Amanda has recently relocated again to the Shreveport area, and she is very happy to be part of the SandysDance Center Family.
